#DevelopedHere-  Surf’s own Evan Rotundo, on our U17 DA boys team coached by Josh Henderson, was called up to the the U.S. U15 Boys National Team for the 2019 Concacaf U15 Championship which kicked off on August 4th. Evan Rotundo, has become a a fixture at this age group, the upcoming tournament represents Rotundo’s seventh appearance with the U.S. U15s dating back to the start of 2018.

“At Surf, the coaching staff is constantly striving to develop each of our players to the maximum extent of their potential.  It has been fantastic to see Evan continue to push the boundaries of his game.  He responds really well to our training and is always seeking to get more out of his time on the field.  He is one of those rare players that pulls in every bit of coaching you put out and then asks for even more.  Our coaching staff is proud to see him represent the club as he plays for the youth national teams,” said Josh Henderson.

The U15 squad started out strong and went undefeated through group play at the @Concacaf Championships in Florida.  With 3 wins in group (Haiti 2-0, Guatemala 3-0 and Suriname 4-0) the US went on to Quarterfinals where they beat Costa Rica 2-0 setting them up for a semifinal game vs Portugal. Unfortunately the U.S. U15 Boys National Team lost 0-3 to Portugal in the semifinal, Portugal going on to win championship beating Slovenia 2-0.

We love seeing our Surf players achieve their dreams with hard work and determination. Evan has risen to every challenge and taken advantage of every opportunity that has come his way to see him on the US team is truly inspiring. Well earned Evan, we are #SurfPROUD.
